Black Is The New Black

Black is the one fashion color that never disappears, takes a hiatus or has to be closet shifted seasonally. It acts as the perfect backdrop, slenderizes your frame and is taken seriously. In fashion, it is the go-to staple color for every occasion and is all weather.  It is associated with classic styles, as in "The Little Black Dress" and "Black Tie Attire." If the invitation says "business attire," you will see a an array of black suits, pantsuits, skirts and dresses. In other words, it is everyone's fall back, go-to and usually the most plentiful in a woman's closet. Well, it certainly is in mine.
In this outfit, I have inserted subtle pops of white and color to break up the potential monotone effect, but maintain the sophisticated attitude. I love the peek a boo detail of the sleeve of this Helmut Lang sweater; it and these Rag and Bone jeans will remain in my closet forever. They are high waisted, (yay for that!), and the little fringed flare is subtle enough to get away with to wear to a meeting if I top it with a quiet white blouse and add a heel or cute flat for polish. This Fendi handbag has been on repeat this fall. It is über lightweight, has a cross-body strap and is roomy enough for all of my essentials. I added this cute mini guitar strap for colorful versatility.
Black is always in fashion, and I suspect that it always will be. Black will always be the new black!
