Pucci Printed
/ I love a good sale. In fact, I try to shop only when there is a sale; which is why you will always find me shopping in July and January, when designer clothing prices are reduced by 75%. As luck would have it, on the exact day that I was shopping for a friend's birthday gift, Saks had its first day of final markdown. I have always been drawn to the designs of Emilio Pucci, although admittedly, I have never purchased any, simply because I have never found any pieces during sale time. I love the bold prints, which to me, are reminiscent of the 1960's and 1970's, two of my favorite fashion eras. His clothes were worn by both Sophia Loren and Jackie Kennedy, two of my fashion idols; that might help explain my fondness for the designer. Since his death in 1992, his daughter, Laudomia, continues to design under the Pucci name. In my opinion, her designs have retained all of the bold, cheerful and timeless fabrics that define this fashion house.
The top, by Marc Jacobs, which was also on sale, is no longer available; I have one that is similar in both look and price. Off the shoulder tops continue to trend. And although they require a strapless bra, which is the bane of my existence, they are worth it. I have on this one by Natori, and it is my favorite.
While some people find the frenzy of sale shopping to be unpleasant, I find it to be like a treasure hunt, one in which the treasures can be yours to have forever.
