There are so many times when I feel that I have to justify my love of fashion. And each time that I find myself explaining this passion, the answer seems to be the same. Fashion is art, plain and simple, if you consider the effort, time and detail that goes into the creation of a beautiful piece of clothing. Case in point, these silk pants by Stella McCartney, that were snagged at Saks 75% off sale….(I told you I did really well that day!)

These high-waisted, roomy menswear style pants are offset by this beautiful fabric that reminds me of an impressionist painting. Since the pants are the focal piece of this outfit, I paired it with a “quiet” silk top by Peter Cohen. I simply cannot bring myself to put them away while for fall; I will transition them with this cream-colored sweater coat, by Maje. The light color and weight of the fabric make it perfect for transitioning from summer to fall. I maintained the serene quality of this ensemble by sticking with light colored accessories. In true art vernacular, these pants are the star of this show, and the rest of the pieces are its supporting cast.
