It's a Long Story

I love a long skirt. For me it serves a multiude of purposes; it keeps my legs warm, it hides cuts, scrapes and bruises, (from which I suffer because I am a clutz!), and just looks great. However, I really love a long skirt that is fitted and hugs the body. This one, by Proenza Schouler, shouted to me from the Saks sales rack because I loved the pattern. It reminded me of a Mondrian painting, and it was love at first sight. The black sweater seemed like the perfect match for this abstract art since its angular neckline compliments the clean lines of the skirt's design. And the fact that I had an old pair of Jimmy Choos in the exact same colors as the skirt was simply kismet! I kept the jewelry quiet so that the star of this show is the skirt. I am certain that Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the duo who created Proenza Schouler, are huge fans of the Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian, and that was what influenced the design of this skirt. This proves once again, that fashion is art.
