It's the end of March and we've adjusted the clocks; the calendar claims that it is spring, yet there remains a definite chill in the air.  If you're like me, you've grown tired of winter sweaters, but lightweight spring clothing leave you feeling a bit frosted. That's why I choose to layer my clothes and keep them spring themed, with florals and color. This Fendi sweater was a find, and given the fact that it was purchased at the very end of the sale, it was the very last one. I found an adorable one by Tori Burch (see above credits), that is also on sale. This blouse, by Phillip Lim, is elegant and cropped, defining the waist and yet falling effortlessly. I love the ruffle sleeve, which I had to shorten because my arms are short. This brings me to my next point....tailoring. The right fit is crucial, as it can make or break an outfit. I always tailor my clothing; at 5'3, I am short, but not petite. I will usually purchase a size small and shorten the sleeves or length of a shirt. I shortened this sweater coat, because I felt that it dropped too low for my height. I cannot reiterate enough,  the value of tailoring; never walk away from an item of clothing because you think that it doesn't fit you correctly. If you love it, have it tailored! Until the temperatures begin to reflect the season, I will be layering. How about you?

These photos were all shot by my sister, Janet Corne,  at the Palm Springs Art Museum, where there is currently an Andy Warhol exhibit which is not to be missed!
