I know what you're thinking....this is an awfully short skort. Yes, it is, but I really love the asymmetrical overlay and the big silver buckle. I tried to tone it down with my now go-to top by Peter Cohen. I own it in navy as well, and will be ordering it in every color because it is just that perfect. It can be tied loosely in a front knot as shown HERE or simply tucked in for a neat look as I have done with this this pairing.

And how fabulous are these sandals by Bally? Believe it or not, they are comfortable and wearable. There is a hidden front platform that provides extra cushioning for the balls of your feet.

Since everything is on sale right now, this is the perfect time to purchase great designer pieces at slashed prices!

If I told you that I found these overalls at a hair salon in Winnipeg, you probably wouldn’t believe me…but it’s true! The Edward Carriere salon is a hybrid beauty/boutique. You may recall that I posted about them last year. More and more salon owners are offering an array of clothing and accessories for sale in order to compensate for the decrease in sales of hair products due to beauty supply stores and online shopping. I, for one, am happy about this, because I don’t know that I would have otherwise found these!

The last time I wore a pair of overalls, must have been 1989 and I am not joking. They were not the most flattering of clothing items and were difficult to wear. Most of us wore them loose and baggy and no matter the vantage point, they did nothing for us. Fast forward to 2015, and voila, this version is simply fabulous. Black denim updates the look from faded denim work coveralls, to out to dinner chic-ness. They are fitted at the waist and the bib lies flat which elongates the torso.  You can wear them to work with a simple white blouse and a delicate necklace, or add some vibrant jewelry (like this bib), and take them out on the town.

Although I have an aversion to the green olive, I love the color olive green. I think it was engrained in me at an early age.  My mother suffused our house in the color. Our front door was painted olive green; in fact that was how we identified the house “it’s the house with the “olive” green door.” I was immediately attracted to this olive green quilted skirt by Worth New York. Not only is it adorable, because of the quilting, and the front zipper, but it is oh so comfortable. Since I love the color so much, I just happened to have an olive green leather vest by Vince. Adding black to the olive green is always a rich pairing and accenting it with gold accessories gives it polish and finesse, like this chunky gold chained black bag by Lanvin that I scored when it went on sale at Savannah. This is a great travel bag, because it packs flat and is chic. I added this colorful scarf by Gucci to bring the outfit to life.
