Apple and Honey Galette

Here is a recipe that is perfect for the Jewish New Year, as it combines apple and honey. The Brie gives it an unexpected edge that is completely irresistible. 

Ingredients:

One store bought pie dough
(400 gm.; 9 inch, they come 2 to a package)

1 cup Brie
2 T Brown Sugar
¾ C sliced almonds
1 tsp cinnamon
3-4 apples,(any variety, skin on), thinly sliced
Butter for dotting
Honey for drizzling

 

Instructions:

Remove pie crust from freezer and let thaw according to instructions.

Form into ball and roll out into a circle shap onto parchment paper.

Mix cheese, brown sugar, almonds and cinnamon

Spread onto pie crust and top with apples

Dot the top with butter, drizzle with honey, then pinch the edges to form a crust.

Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes until golden.

Garnish with pomegranate seeds.
