I am not one to gravitate towards an entire head to toe print; but this one, which cinches at the waist, has a flattering neckline, and pockets in which to stuff my fidgety hands, suits me perfectly. Moreover, when I discovered it in the Bloomies in NYC, (it is available nation wide), it was part of a promotional event. That, coupled with Serena’s nod of approval, sealed the deal. Serena and I have very different styles. She is more of a boho/hippie gal, while I am much more classic with an edge. She likes her clothes to have lived another life, and I like mine to have lived only a second off the runway. Even though our styles differ, I strongly value her opinion and can always count on her honesty and candor. Our summer experience of shooting the Bloomingdale’s Studio 59 promotional video, (which I am told will be airing soon), was truly a highlight for both of us, and one of the most memorable and special times with my daughter. That amps up the volume of this jumpsuit. Its full on print is a loud but subtle reminder to me that there is much to love about fashion, especially its association with certain times of a person’s life. I imagine that’s why Serena gravitates towards clothes that have had meaning for someone else. When the time comes for me to retire this jumpsuit, I will pass it to her; she can be certain that it was worn with happiness and gratitude for having shared a wonderful mother daughter fashion moment. Do your clothes tell a story that is meaningful to you? Please share it in the comments below, because I would love to hear about it!
