I have been on a classic kick lately. I have been known to dress in pieces that are a little more funky, but lately, I find that I have been choosing more classic ones. Instead of buying an armful of trendy items, I have been choosing fewer, more classic ones that will remain in my closet for a very long time. When faced with the challenge of dressing for a meeting or an event that calls for “business attire” without wearing the same old black pantsuit or little black (conservative) dress and jacket, a look like this can go a long way in making one feel pulled together, chic and above all, confident. You don’t have to spend a fortune to get this look. I realize that all the pieces here are by high-end designers, but you can achieve the same look at a fraction of the cost, depending on your budget. Just click on the link that highlighted above in “same for less here.”
Nothing goes further in a wardrobe than the black and white/cream combo; for instance, a classic pair of pinstriped trousers topped with a silk blouse and pretty shoes. If the weather calls for it, throw on a dressy black coat, (another investment piece), and a great bag, and you are ready for anything. This is an ensemble that I like to refer to as classic confidence.
