Read More So you've just finished a great workout or a yoga class and you are not all that sweaty. You want to run errands around town or you have an appointment. You refuse to be seen in your yoga outfit once you exit the studio...what do you do?
You take a long white blouse like this one, by Comrags, and layer it with the yoga top. Voilà...you have an instant fashion forward outfit. I have been an enormous fan of the clothing line, Comrags, for decades. I have featured it on this blog here. As a Canadian, I am always eager to promote Canadian fashion, which I feel is very under-represented in an industry which focuses heavily on European labels. Comrags clothing is easy to wear, affordable and incredibly chic. I can just as easily wear each of these pieces on their own, making this a very practical purchase. I paired this ensemble with my oh so edgy flats by Walter Steiger, who used to have a flagship store in Manhattan. When they closed, I was heartbroken; now I often visit their Parisian website, or, if you are a perfect 7.5, purchase these on the Real Real to which they are linked in the description above.
This on-the-go outfit calls for a light and roomy backpack like this one, which I have taken on many a trip. It is both nylon and frameless, making it incredibly easy to pack and lug around the streets of your next destination.
I have no idea if the Comrags designers meant the leggings and top to be a yoga outfit, but I decided that they are perfect for it, and wore it the Bloomingdales Give Pink Yoga event. Bloomingdales is hugely supportive of Breast Cancer and always dedicates 100% of the proceeds from their Give Pink month-long event to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The Carey Foundation and Marisa Acochella Marchetto Foundation. If you are reading this blog, then I know you are a woman on the go, who is both stylish and philanthropic. I encourage you to visit your local Bloomies and shop for this worthy cause.

Here is the tale of how a potential fashion disaster became a fashion success. I found this beautiful Sandro dress at Bloomingdales. I loved the lace brocade and the sheer back panel, all of which I found to be very francaise. The only problem was the plunging neckline and unpadded front cups. In days of yore, I might have been able to get away with this free and breezy cut, but at the age of 57, it was definitely not a green lit fashion situation. Not one to surrender without a fight, I had an idea. If I asked the tailor to sew padding into the cups and close up the front to reveal only a slight amount of cleavage, perhaps I could then solve the revealing problem. As you can see from the finished product, the task was accomplished successfully! Below is a selfie I took in the tailor's dressing room. The look on my face depicts my reaction to the revealing nature of the dress.
This outfit, with its fabulous long sheer skirt and denim bag, is my nod to the hippie era.
